Innovations
Since 1996 I have been developing hybrid trumpets such as the “Drumpet” which expands the ability to play the trumpet rhythmically like a drum and the Naga Phoenix slide trumpet which produces microtones (the "sounds between the piano keys" ). Both are inspired by my work with South Indian music.
ART
Hearing and Seeing are intermeshed in the visualizations of my interdisciplinary and intercultural musical imagination.
My drawings are filled with dots, vectors and geometries, and bold colored paintings that exude the sensuality and exuberance of the global musical genres that continue to delight me.
